My Pilates journey started in 2012 when, following a back problem, my physiotherapist recommended that I try a Pilates class to help with strength and mobility. I started attending a local evening class with a Body Control Pilates teacher and found that Pilates was just the thing I had been missing to complement my running habit and keep injuries at bay!
I loved the way Pilates brought strength and flexibility to my body and calmed my busy mind! I loved it so much that during the COVID pandemic I embarked upon the Body Control Pilates L3 matwork qualification, and soon after the birth of my second daughter I left behind my career in the travel industry and started life as a Pilates teacher!
I am passionate about helping others improve their health and wellbeing via Pilates and can't wait to accompany you on your journey to meeting your fitness goals. Get in touch if you'd like to join a class, meet online to practise together, or to organise a private or smaller group session.

Pilates is the ideal exercise system for every body type, age and shape, no matter what your previous experience or level of activity. In Body Control Pilates we aim to bring the whole body, especially the spine, back into balance and optimal alignment by focusing on correct positioning while we carry out a repertoire of exercises based on those which were developed by Joseph Pilates, the father of modern-day Pilates, back in the 1930s.
New to Pilates? Don't worry, class sizes are maintained at a maximum of 12 to enable me, your instructor, to give you and your body the focus and attention you need to progress through the classes and to provide support, suggest adjustments, and offer encouragement along the way. Classes consist of a range of exercises, rotated weekly, performed in a variety of positions, to allow you to get a balanced and structured workout. We will focus on mobility of the major joints and aim to build up strength and stability in the core muscles of the body. Classes are inclusive and taught with a light-hearted and encouraging approach, to make sure everyone who attends feels good about moving their body on a regular basis.
Not a fan of group classes or need more flexibility regarding your schedule? I also offer 1:1, 2:1 and small group classes in the comfort of your home, just get in touch to discuss your needs. 1:1s are also ideal if you are new to Pilates, so that I can teach you the fundamentals before you join a group class.
Feel free to check out testimonials from current and past clients to hear directly from them how they have benefited from my Pilates classes..
'You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.'
JOSEPH PILATES
I've thoroughly enjoyed my sessions with Lucy, this was a very new type of workout than that which
I was used to, but it has done so much for me. I really look forward to the session each week and since attending my back pain which used to persist constantly, has pretty much disappeared.
Lucy is a great Pilates teacher. As an advocate of Pilates, I was delighted to hear back in 2024 that a class was opening in my neighbouring village. Lucy proves to be an excellent teacher, caring and with a very professional manner, constantly aware of anyone needing help to achieve a move correctly. A great way to spend an hour : friendly, fun AND it’s good for you.
I really enjoy Lucy's Pilates classes and can highly recommend. Always a friendly atmosphere. I like that each of the movements has different levels of challenge as well as mixing it up with different bits of equipment depending on the week. I really feel the difference when I haven't been for a few weeks and am always happy to get back to it.
Current group classes are inclusive and cater for mixed abilities; I am experienced in adapting exercises to suit all clients in the class. If you've never practiced Pilates before you may benefit from, and enjoy, a couple of 1:1 sessions to learn the basics and get tailored support before joining a group class.
Please bring a Pilates mat (you can easily find these online or I can source one for you) and some water.
We will aim to move the body in all directions each session so wear comfortable clothes that you feel happy exercising in and that allow for stretching in all directions. Usually, shorts or long or short leggings depending on the weather, and a T-shirt or exercise top are what people feel most comfortable in.
